14.0 Western Vampire Noir

OVERVIEW - Western Vampire Noir

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night was a revelation when it screened at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014. As we continue to explore neo-noir examples of contemporary filmmaking this week's focus lends itself to hybridizing genres over decades - spaghetti western, neo-noir, cult and horror for the mysterious and soulful look at industrialized decay amidst the strife of modern life in Bad City. The characters speak Farsi, we understand it to take place in a bizarro-Iranian underworld of sorts. It really is in our own back yard (shout just outside Bakersfield, CA).
